About me
Are you struggling with anxiety and panic attacks? Low mood and tearfulness? Brain fog? Anger that comes out of nowhere? Waking up in the middle of the night feeling like someone has switched your brain on? Then feeling tired and wiped out during the day?
Menopause is an emotional and physical rollercoaster, a natural transition – but a nightmare for many women. You may be struggling with tiredness and fatigue, body image and weight gain, intimacy problems and low sex-drive - all of which can lead to a loss of confidence and affect your relationships and social lives.
At this stage of life many women are also trying to carry the heavy load of running the family home, holding down a job, caring for ageing parents, the challenges that come with adult children who are still living at home, or the feeling of loss when a child leaves the nest.
Throwing menopause into the mix, juggling life can feel impossible, and you may feel like you can't carry the load any more.
How Counselling can help you:
Whether you are taking HRT or not, I can help you process what is happening, teach you strategies to manage your emotions better, and find practical coping techniques that work for you - making everyday life feel easier.
I am a Menopause Wellness Practitioner and Qualified CBT Therapist based near Colchester (CO7). I offer therapy online and in-person, provide you with gentle support, the emotional tools, and the practical coping techniques to help you get your life back on track.
What to expect from your first session:
Most importantly our first session will be a chance for us to get to know each other, and for you to feel comfortable. I will explain how CBT works, and will ask for some background information to help me understand what you are struggling with a little better, and how your problems are impacting your life. We will talk about what you would like to get from therapy - and if you're not sure right now, that's absolutely fine. We will work at a pace that suits you, so if we don't cover what we set out to do in our first session, that's fine too.
