MBACP - Neurodivergent Integrative Counsellor

About me

Have you spent a lot of time feeling like you need to hide parts of yourself or "fit in" with the world around you? Do you often feel "too sensitive", or like you experience things more deeply than others seem to?

Maybe it feels like everyone else received a handbook for life that you somehow missed.

I'm Kitty, a BACP registered counsellor offering integrative counselling for neurodivergent adults in Banbury and online across the UK. I offer a warm, neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ affirming space where I invite you to bring your whole self.

You might feel exhausted from masking, finding relationships difficult, exploring your identity, or trying to make sense of why you've often felt different from other people.

In our sessions, you don't need to explain away your feelings or justify your needs. We can spend time making sense of what's going on for you, together. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you can be yourself more and where we can explore whatever feels important to you.

My approach is warm, human, and relational. I believe the relationship we build together is an important part of therapy, so how you experience our work matters to me. I'll meet you with curiosity, empathy, and acceptance. Alongside my professional training, I'm neurodivergent too, so I understand some of the challenges ND people can face.

If something here has resonated with you, you’re welcome to get in touch. We can have a chat about what you’re looking for from counselling and see whether working together feels like the right fit for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Foundation Degree in Therapeutic Counselling, and I'm a member of the BACP. I have additional training in trauma-informed approaches, creative therapy techniques, and supporting neurodivergent clients.

I have worked with people facing a wide range of challenges, including:

  • Anxiety, social anxiety, stress, and depression
  • ADHD, autism and other neurodivergent experiences
  • Relationship and family issues
  • LGBTQIA+ and gender-diverse experiences
  • Trauma, abuse, and grief
  • Work related stress
  • Low self-esteem or confidence

What you can expect:

Our sessions focus on listening deeply to your perspective. We work at a pace that feels right for you, in a way that respects how you experience the world.

What next?

If this feels like it could help, you can get in touch for a free, no-pressure phone call. You can ask any questions or just explore what counselling might be like. You don’t have to do this alone.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
