About me

There are times in life when things simply don't feel as though they're working anymore. You may know exactly why, or you may only have a sense that something needs to change.

Perhaps you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally exhausted. You might be struggling with a difficult relationship, coping with loss, living with the impact of addiction, or finding it hard to make sense of your thoughts and feelings. Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to work through it alone.

I offer professional counselling for adults in a comfortable, private counselling room in Hyde Gardens, Eastbourne, as well as online across the UK. My aim is to provide a calm, welcoming environment where you can talk openly, without feeling rushed or judged.

Every person's experience is unique, so rather than following a set agenda, I take time to understand what is important to you. Together, we can explore whatever feels difficult, helping you develop a greater understanding of yourself, your relationships, and the challenges you are facing.

I work with adults experiencing a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, bereavement, life transitions, and the impact of addiction. Alongside my private practice, I have experience counselling within a specialist community substance use service, supporting adults facing a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges.

Finding the right counsellor is an important decision. If you're considering counselling and would like to know more, I offer a free initial telephone conversation, giving you the opportunity to ask any questions and decide whether we would be a good fit to work together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a First Class BSc (Hons) in Person-Centred Counselling and a Foundation Degree in Person-Centred Counselling with Distinction. I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).

I have also completed specialist training in crisis listening, including supporting people affected by self-harm and suicidal thoughts.

I am committed to maintaining high professional standards through regular clinical supervision, ongoing continuing professional development (CPD), and professional indemnity insurance.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
