About me

I am a fully qualified Person-centred counsellor with a background of 5 years working in Mental health and a total of 10 years in the social care sector. I have worked with many individuals experiencing life difficulties and a broad range of debilitating mental health conditions. I am approachable, easy to talk to with a warm caring attitude.

My nonjudgmental approach will help you ease into sessions, building trust as you progress to feel able to explore what is going on for you.

I understand that at times we might not know what is wrong or why things are feeling difficult but talking therapy offers the chance to explore any situation regardless of how big or small it may feel.

I believe that the professional relationship between client and counsellor is a key aspect to therapeutic outcome. The right counsellor will feel like a breath of fresh air, uplifting when things are feeling heavy and empowering when self-esteem is low.

If you're tired of carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders, I can offer you a space to just be with you and help hold the weight when things are feeling heavy, overwhelming or too much to hold on your own.

I can also offer you a space to be heard, listened too and understood. Many of us spend more time in our own heads than we do sharing it due to the fear of judgment of others.

Counselling offers you a chance to understand yourself, explore unresolved feelings and see the world from a different perspective while feeling safe to share with confidentiality at the forefront of it all.

I can offer 15min free face to face consultations or online to get a chance to meet each other. I offer face to face counselling or online if this suits better.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
