About me
Hello and welcome,
My name is Kerry and I am a fully qualified psychotherapist and counsellor based in Loughborough.
I specialise in working with clients with anxiety, chronic health conditions, psychosomatic pain and pet loss/grief , but have a wide range of experience in many other areas.
My practice encorporates different methods to ensure each client has a bespoke experience. These methods include, talking therapy, reframing work, somatic exercises, breath work and guided meditations.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. You may find yourself here for many reasons. You may be struggling with a recent life event, you may be seeking understanding or acceptance around something in your past, or you may feel as though something is not quite right. Whatever the reason, I am here to help and ensure you are not alone in this journey.
My own experience of personal therapy has informed how I work as a clinician. I understand how daunting and scary starting therapy can be, I also know what a difference having a warm, empathic, yet resilent therapist can have on that experience.
I provide a warm and respectful relationship with my clients, this allows them to explore their feelings and experiences without being judged and come to a better understanding of themselves, which in turn can provide them with a more positive future.
As a humanistic and integrative therapist, I believe that we are all beautiful and unique, this uniqueness is celebrated. I also believe that we are all capable of change and that this change can happen when people are offered a relationship which is different to what they have experienced before. By building this relationship together, it offers a reparative experience to clients, where they feel heard, understood and cared for.
This togetherness continues as I aim to empower clients, offer opportunities to make the changes you want and to work towards achieving your goals. By offering open ended therapy, something which I feel is special and unique, it gives power to the client to choose what length of time is most beneficial to them.
Finding the right therapist for you is really important, because of this, I offer a free of charge, 20 minute phone consultation for new clients. This allows you to ask any questions you may have about the therapy I offer and to make sure that we are a good fit to work together. Any subsequent sessions will be charged at the usual fee.
Please feel free to email, call or message me on the contact details found at the top of the page, if I am unable to respond immediately, I will respond as soon as I am free and this will usually be on the same day.
I look forward to working with you.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I have worked in the healthcare sector in some form for most of my adult life, in pharmacy, dentistry and in a care home. My passion has always been people and mental health, my main drive being to make people’s lives a bit easier if I can.
I then decided to make my passion for mental health into a career, first completing a diploma in counselling, then studying a degree in psychotherapy and counselling at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute (SPTI) for 3 years.
This allowed me to work at The Haven, a local mental health charity for 2 years, where I saw clients from various backgrounds and presenting issues and accrued over 200 hours of client therapy work. This work was both face to face and online and ranged from short term to long term work.
I now work both from my home office with online clients and from my office in Loughborough town centre for my clients who I see face to face.
