About me
Are you struggling in your relationships or feeling anxious about what others might think? Do you find it difficult to express how you feel or worry about disappointing others?
You might find it hard to say no, or to set boundaries in relationships, or asking for what you need without feeling guilty. Sometimes even when we appear to be managing in day-to-day life, things can feel hard beneath the surface.
I offer a compassionate space where you can explore what is happening for you without fear of judgement. You don't have to have everything figured out before you start counselling. My aim is for us to build a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel safe to explore difficult feelings and gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences.
Throughout the counselling process, you may begin to recognise familiar patterns, become more aware of your needs and start to make decisions that feel right for you.
What will our sessions look like?
I offer both short-term and long-term counselling depending on what suits you. I understand it can feel challenging or scary to start counselling and share things you may not have spoken about before. There is no set ‘structure’ and we will go at your pace to focus on what feels right for you. It’s important that you feel valued and accepted.
How long will our sessions last?
Our counselling sessions last 50 minutes and we will review our sessions regularly together. There are no set number of sessions as this can vary for everyone.
My therapeutic approach is person-centred and trauma informed. Person-centred counselling is based on the idea that you are the expert in your own life. I won’t judge you, tell you what you should do, or make assumptions about your experiences. I understand that counselling is not ‘one size fits all' and recognise that we are all unique. I aim to adapt the work based on your needs and experiences.
I have specific experience in supporting people affected by addiction, both those experiencing addiction themselves, and those who have been affected by someone else’s addiction. I understand how painful and complex these experiences can be and I offer a space to explore emotions, relationship boundaries and challenges that may come with them.
I work with adults facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, low mood, relationship challenges, self‑esteem issues, grief, and a general sense of feeling stuck or overwhelmed.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
