About me
I am an integrative counsellor, which means I draw on a range of theories and approaches tailored to your individual needs. My work is relational, with a strong emphasis on trust, collaboration, and emotional safety. I believe that the relationship is central, and that feeling heard, understood, and accepted can create the conditions for positive change.
Perhaps you are experiencing a significant life change, loss, relationship or work issue that is causing you to feel anxiety, overwhelm, grief, stress, or depression. Perhaps you are aware that your childhood experiences were difficult and notice patterns that keep being replayed in your life. Or you may feel low without knowing why, or have been carrying something for a long time that feels heavy and hard to share.
I offer a safe and non-judgemental space where you can talk and explore your experiences at your own pace. Life can be challenging and can bring emotions that feel too much at times. Having someone alongside you who listens carefully and helps you make sense of what is happening can be really supportive when navigating these moments.
It is important to me that my clients know they are the experts in their own lives. I will not tell you what to do, but I will walk alongside you, working collaboratively to help you gain insight and find more supportive and positive ways of moving forward.
I am happy to talk through your personal situation and answer any questions you may have before we decide whether working together feels right for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework and attend regular clinical supervision to support safe, ethical, thoughtful and collaborative practice.
I have experience working with a wide range of clients and presenting issues across different settings. This includes working with adults referred by their GP within an NHS medical practice, adults accessing counselling privately, and adolescents within a school setting. Working across these different contexts has supported me in adapting my approach and responding sensitively to individual needs, backgrounds, and stages of life.
Before training as a counsellor, I spent over 15 years working in a corporate environment. This experience gives me a strong understanding of the pressures and demands of modern working life, including stress, responsibility, and the impact this can have on wellbeing, identity, and relationships.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
