About me

I am a registered with BACP (British Association Counselling and Psychotherapists), NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society) and ESTD (European Society for Trauma and Dissociation) I am qualified to work with children age 3+, young people and adults of all ages. I am presently working face to face from my office at Reasons HQ in Andover or online.

Finding the right therapist for you is really crucial, the therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in bringing about change. It's really important to not only find someone who is qualified and experienced but that you connect with. I therefore offer a free phone call to answer any questions you may have and take the time to tell you a little about what to expect working with me. I then send out my introductory paperwork including detailed information about where to find me and photos, to take as much anxiety out of our first meeting as possible. I want you to have all the information you need to feel as comfortable as possible.

Everything about my practice is about being as inclusive as possible but also I am very much about being honest, so I feel I should say here unfortunately the building where I hire my room does have a double flight of stairs without a lift. As a counsellor I listen from your perspective, we get curious together about what could be playing out, where this could have come from. There maybe laughter and tears along they way but there will be an authenticity to building a relationship to hold what is needed, to reflect, repair where necessary and grow.

I work in an unshaming, validating way but also providing challenge in a way to minimise triggering defence mechanisms, to enable you to get the most from your sessions to move forward in a way that aligns with your values and living the life you want.

As well as running a thriving private practice I also provide services for NHS Surrey Heartlands, Hampshire County Council, for those able to access the ASF (Adoption Support Fund) through Adopt South and I work one day a week in a school.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
