About me
I offer a kind, supportive and genuine space to talk openly without judgment, from my counselling room in Hertford about what is important to you.
Tackling life’s challenges can be overwhelming and I understand how it can be hard to talk to family and friends about relationships, loss, historic feelings, or how life hasn’t or isn’t working out quite how you hoped.
You may be experiencing anxiety or depression, low mood, stress and uncertainty, which is affecting life physically, mentally or spiritually and need a space that is just for you.
Together we can create that space and explore what has led you to counselling; perhaps reviewing the past or the present, supported in a safe nurturing environment to help your understanding and empowerment for change.
My integrative training means my modalities are Psychodynamic, Person Centred and Existential which provide a professional individualised talking therapy tailored to your needs, at your pace, to support your journey .
My love and interest of people and the value I hold for relationships encouraged me to become a counsellor. I truly understand the power of being heard, valued and connected and hope to offer this to you.
With 20 years of experience working in the public sector and with experience at Mind, I bring a supportive and nurturing approach to my practice, learning from each client an interaction which has helped me develop into the counsellor and person, I am today.
I offer a free, 15–20-minute telephone consultation to answer any questions you have about counselling or the way I work. This gives us the opportunity get to know a little about each other.
In the first session we will discuss how we can work together, and I will answer any queries you have. This is to explore if we are a good fit and you can then decide if you wish to proceed with me.
It’s about finding a way to work together that suits you, at your pace, helping to develop and find your strength and resilience to make positive changes with the aim to be the best and happiest version of you.
I am committed to professional ethics and best practices, as a member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), and I value every experience as an opportunity for growth, both for myself and those I serve.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
