About me

When life feels heavy and uncertain, finding a place where you feel grounded, understood and accepted can be that all important first step in helping you live life better.

I'm Katie and I can provide that therapeutic place where you can feel calm in the chaos. You are welcome with whatever you may bring, even the parts of yourself that you might not feel comfortable showing to other people. We can explore what is troubling you at your own pace, in confidence and without judgement.

What can you expect from me?
I am a fully qualified and registered integrative counsellor which means I draw upon a variety of therapeutic approaches and techniques tailored to you and what feels most helpful. This includes Person-Centred, Psychodynamic and Transactional Analysis. This personalised approach allows me to adapt to the unique needs and preferences of my clients, ensuring the therapeutic process is both effective and centred around my client rather than my practice.

I work with adults navigating mental health issues, living with the impact of trauma, dealing with grief, depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, life transitions, family issues or a general sense of overwhelm. I am also trained in trauma-informed counselling and the impact that traumatic experiences can have on a person's thoughts, emotions and body.

Whatever you are going through, you don't have to navigate it alone.

That first step to making a change in your life…
I offer a free 20-minute no obligation online consultation where we can discuss what brings you to therapy, what I can offer you and see if you feel I'm the right person to support you in your therapeutic journey.

Feel free to send me an email and we can go from there…

NCPS
National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Additional information

I offer both in person and online sessions, Monday-Thursday 9am-3pm.

In person sessions are £65 (location Halton Tennis Centre, Aylesbury, HP22 5PD).
Online sessions are £55.

Each counselling session is 50 minutes.

I am happy to work with clients on both an open-ended basis or a set number of sessions. In either scenario, you are free to end therapy at any point with one week's notice.

I would usually suggest meeting for 6 sessions and we would then review whether the difficulties that brought you to therapy are resolved. You may feel happy to end there or it could be that further counselling would be helpful.

I can also offer a discounted rate to trainee counsellors.
