About me
Hi, hello and welcome. My name is Kate, and I’m a person-centred, relational therapist. I’m really pleased you’ve stopped by my profile.
I understand how daunting it can feel to acknowledge that something isn’t right and to reach out for help. My aim is to help you feel at ease and supported, and to answer any questions you may have along the way.
Having experienced self-esteem issues throughout my life, I know firsthand the power of therapy and how life-changing it can be. This experience led me to retrain as a therapist so that I could offer others the same sense of safety, understanding, and support that I received.
I have significant experience working with trauma related to domestic abuse, which often involves themes of low confidence, self-esteem, guilt and shame, anxiety, and depression.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and am bound by their code of conduct, ensuring that my work is safe and ethical.
I also hold an Enhanced DBS check and am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), registration number: ZB581369.
How I Work
My goal is to provide a warm, calm, and non-judgemental space where you can explore difficult feelings and experiences and feel truly understood. As a person-centred therapist, you and your experiences are always at the heart of our work. We will go at your pace and stay with what feels important for you.
I believe that while we are all equal and valuable, we may need different things at different times. One session, you may want to offload the stresses of the week; in another, you might want support with managing anxiety, or we might gently explore past experiences that are affecting your present life. There may be tears, and anger may show up too but there will also be moments of laughter and the rediscovery of joy. Therapy is a process, and all of the work we do together matters.
The therapeutic relationship is central to my practice. I believe deeply in the healing power of kindness, connection, and validation. By creating a sense of safety and trust, my hope is that you can be yourself and that together we can build a relationship that supports self-compassion and helps you flourish.
If my down-to-earth, human approach resonates with you, and you’re considering beginning or continuing therapy, I’d really love to hear from you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
