About me

Early on in my training I realised that neurodiversity has been largely overlooked in society, at work, and in the therapy rooms. This developed my passion in 'building bridges': between the neurotypical (NT) and neurodivergent (ND) worlds, foreign cultures, genders, and generally between people, however they are. So, it might help you to know that there’s someone out there who is willing to listen, to help you better understand your situation and feelings, and to give you a space to ‘just be’.

I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist and work mainly humanistic, including drawing on TA , PCT, Gestalt, and CBT. This means, you decide what and how you want to talk about something, we might look at the past together, and at the here & now to find workable solutions for you, and I'm happy to go at your pace. I want to enable you to be who you are and want to be, regardless of whether you are NT or ND.

I also work in the areas of trauma, bereavement, miscarriage, and more. Feel free to ask me about this if your issue isn't covered here.

You do not need to be officially diagnosed with ASD or ADHD. Simply, if the above speaks to you and you wish to explore more about yourself, just get in touch. I'm available for face-to-face, online, and telephone counselling. Face-to-face sessions are taking place by prior arrangement on Monday afternoons and Wednesdays. Please contact me for more information. Many thanks.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
