About me
Do you need a safe space to navigate mental distress, overwhelm, suffering and grief, feeling stuck and hopeless, or through periods of transition and upheaval? Would you like to move through current setbacks towards greater contentment, joy and purpose? Book in for an initial consultation, free of charge, to find out more.
I am a professionally trained, BACP-registered Integrative Counsellor who balances private practice with life as an NHS Clinical Supervisor. I bring warmth and humour, in addition to a wealth of experience. But don't just take my word for it: https://radcliffetherapy.com/testimonials
Being an "Integrative" Counsellor means that although the foundation of my approach is Rogerian person-centred, I bring in elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis and Gestalt Therapy. Depending on your needs, I may also offer creativity, breathwork, mindfulness, Compassion Focused Therapy and embodied work. I will tailor my approach to you.
When I am not supporting individuals - adults and over 16s - in private practice, I work in the NHS as a Clinical Supervisor in a Mental Health Support Team. My NHS background means I am skilled at supporting clients with a wide range of mental health or neurodiversity needs. I can support with:
Grief and bereavement - Depression - Stress, anxiety and burnout - Health difficulties - Abandonment - Hopelessness - Wanting change - Navigating life transitions - Seeking purpose and meaning - Loss of identity/role - Low self esteem or poor self worth - Wanting more joy - Figuring out the next steps - Relationship difficulties - Trauma - Adverse childhood experiences (abuse, neglect) - Parenting.
If we work together, you will be in the driving seat, dictating what we focus on, the pace and duration. Through our work, you will better understand and trust yourself, so that you can start to live a more satisfying life, truer to your own values and vision.
Training, qualifications & experience
My career journey encompasses studying languages and working for over 15 years in the corporate marketing world, but for the last 15 years, I have devoted myself to understanding the human condition. After completing my Master’s degree in psychology and working in a school, I joined the NHS, training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and as a Clinical Supervisor in a Mental Health Support Team in Schools. Since then, I have completed further training to become an Integrative Counsellor, expanding my repertoire of approaches.
Now I balance my private work – working with adults and adolescents over 16 in private practice, as well as senior leaders and pastoral teams in schools – with my NHS role.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Sessions are once a week and last 50 minutes. These are delivered online or face-to-face at a welcoming location in Pimlico/Victoria (right by Pimlico tube) where I work as part of the Calmer Clinics team, or in my counselling space in Acton/Chiswick (right by Acton Town tube, parking available on request).
I do not charge for the introductory session which is usually 30-40 minutes long. This is an opportunity for you to get a sense of how I work, whether you feel comfortable with me, and to ask me questions. It will also allow me to understand your goals for therapy and for us to figure out whether we are a good fit.
If you should decide to go ahead, I will create a therapeutic contract which we will discuss to ensure it works for both of us. I will also ask you to complete a personal details intake form.
