About me

My psychotherapeutic approach is holistic and holding, drawing from different integrative psychotherapeutic models: humanistic, transpersonal, existential, and psychodynamic.

I work with individuals and couples from a range of diverse, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, many of whom have included adults seeking support with child sexual abuse, adoption, low self esteem, identity concerns and sexuality, bereavement, infidelity, family issues and separations, phobias and trauma.

There are many different forms of therapy and therapeutic styles and sometimes finding the right approach and the right therapist takes time. My training is Transpersonal and Integrative which means I can offer you many different approaches that fit best with you and your needs.  To help you decide if I might be the right therapist for you, I offer a free 15-minute online introductory meeting.

You are welcome to look further at my website: (https://www.katherinepsychotherapist.co.uk) and you can contact me via email or phone.  If we do decide to work together, we can meet face to face in counselling rooms in Ealing or Paddington, or online.

My specialist areas include:

  • adoption psychotherapy for adults
  • anxiety
  • bereavement
  • child abuse – child neglect – children in care
  • dementia
  • depression
  • emotional loss
  • family issues
  • infertility
  • low self esteem
  • phobias
  • sexuality - gay - lesbian
  • step families and blended families
  • trauma

Training, qualifications & experience

After 6 years of studying at CCPE (Counselling Centre for Psychotherapy Education), I qualified as a Transpersonal and Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor in December 2018, receiving a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling (adults). I am also a Couples Therapist and hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Transpersonal Couples Counselling and Psychotherapy. I'm a registered member of United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

Previous to my work as a therapist, I have a Post Graduate Diploma and Masters in Social Work and a First Degree in Education and have 15 years experience supporting children and families in adoption, social work and education.

As well as my private therapy practice, I also work at PAC-UK (Post Adoption Counselling) with individuals involved with adoption and I work as a volunteer counsellor and therapist at Ealing Abbey Counselling Service (EACS), providing low cost therapy to individuals and couples.
