About me

Thinking about starting therapy.

Whatever your reason for considering therapy making initial contact may feel daunting. Perhaps you are Anxious, experiencing difficult feelings, a sense of panic that won’t subside that is preventing you from enjoying life, causing Relationship issues or impacting your career.

Why work with me?
I am a BACP & FPC registered professional Counsellor & Psychotherapist with 13 years experience of working with a diverse range of people and difficulties. When life is hard, talking with a therapist can be the most positive decision for you and those closest to you.

Starting Therapy/regular sessions
I can offer shorter term therapy, a set number of sessions or open ended therapy with out a specific end date/session number. We can discuss which would be most helpful to you. Sessions are normally once weekly. I also offer twice weekly sessions.

  • How I work
    My approach is psychodynamic and looks at how our past experiences can affect us in the present often in ways we are not conscious of. Working together in a supportive, non judgmental way will assist you to voice your feelings and hear yourself more clearly. Therapy brings great relief and lasting change through greater self- awareness. Also, ways to better manage difficulties in the present

  • With 13 years of experience as a therapist, I have worked with a wide range of people and difficulties in private practice as well as in a business environment, as a volunteer and for several years as a qualified honorary psychotherapist at WPF Therapy. Addition experience
  • In addition to private practice, I have solid experience of coaching, mentoring, team management and group facilitation. I work as a specialist mentor for higher education students experiencing mental health difficulties.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.


UK Council for Psychotherapy

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.


British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

I have solid experience of and the capacity and empathy to work with adults who have had a difficult/traumatic childhood or childhood experience(s) as well as the significant impact this can have on subsequent relationships and on self esteem a ‘sense of self’, self identity.

Throughout my clinical training and through 10 year post qualification, I have worked with people from many walks of life and their experiences of physical abuse, sexual abuse and assault, neglect, anger and domestic violence.

I also have significant experience in working with people who have experienced parental depression, addiction, emotional withdrawal, emotional abuse, shaming.

Gender Issues
I have an interest and experience working with people who want explore their gender identity.

Wheelchair user access
