About me

Hello, I’m Kate, and I’m an integrative therapist working in Exmouth in Devon.

Life can feel like an uphill struggle sometimes.  Therapy is a space where we can discover the obstacles that are holding you back, and unpack them so you’re able to navigate life with more self-belief and self-acceptance. Therapy can create change, growth, or it might simply be the first step towards living the life you want to.

My aim is to offer you support if you are struggling, and provide a space that is comfortable, calm, and free from judgement. Your needs are at the centre of our therapeutic journey together. Seeking help can be daunting, and it’s important to find a therapist who can work alongside you, whatever that journey looks like. I commit to sharing my authentic self with you, so that you feel able to do the same.

Training, qualifications & experience

I work as an integrative therapist, so I tailor our work to your needs.  I believe in working holistically so that change can impact all of you, and your life. It’s important to me that you feel safe and comfortable, and that our sessions are a place you want to come to.

Therapy is a place where you can bring whatever challenges you are facing, and I will listen, support, and help work alongside you to resolve them. You might be struggling with anxiety or depression, or have trouble with a relationship. Things at work might feel too much, or you may have experienced a bereavement. You might be trying to navigate some changes in your life, or are feeling overwhelmed or stressed. Sometimes we just don’t feel like we like life right now and can’t understand what is wrong. Whatever you want to bring, therapy is a confidential space where it is safe to do so.

I am a fully insured and qualified counsellor. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and adhere to their code of conduct and ethics.

I hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from Nottingham University, and an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
