About me

Hello, I'm Kate and I'm a BACP registered counsellor and Psychotherapist. I understand that choosing a therapist can be a challenging first step, so I'm here to offer you the reassurance that you need to begin counselling. Lived experiences and my training ensure I offer a warm, empathetic, safe space for you to begin your journey in counselling. If you are considering taking that first step and getting support for what you are experiencing, I would feel honoured to support you along that journey.

The counselling I offer is integrative meaning it is adapted to your individual needs, drawing from different approaches. I use my qualifications in Psychology, Counselling and Psychotherapy to ensure I offer you the support you need. This allows me to understand deeper about you so I can tailor our sessions to best meet your needs. My main background is Person-Centred Therapy, but I also have experience with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Humanistic Therapy and Attachment-Based Therapy. This will help us explore what is happening in the here and now, but also dive deeper into patterns or relationships that are influencing you in the present day.

Whether this is your first step into counselling or continuing your journey into understanding yourself further, I will respect your life and experiences and support you in the way you need.

I offer online sessions (anywhere in the UK). I work with a range of presenting issues, which are listed below. If you are feeling unsure whether I am the right fit for you, please feel open to email me or drop me a text message and I will try my best to offer you guidance and suggested next steps.

What to expect after contact is made:

Once you have reached out to me, I will arrange with you a free, 20 minute conversation where we can introduce ourselves and better understand if I am the right therapist for you. This will give you the opportunity to ask any questions and for me to better understand what you wish to bring to therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
