About me

I offer talk therapy and art therapy online. I am an experienced art therapist and organisational therapist, registered with the British Association of Art Therapists and the British Psychoanalytic Council.

My approach is grounded in contemporary psychodynamic and psychoanalytic principles, combined with somatic interventions and, where appropriate, mentalisation-based techniques and solutions-focused practice. I find that these approaches provide a solid foundation for therapeutic work, allowing us to reflect on the past in order to understand patterns, thoughts, and behaviours in the present, and consider how we move forwards.

In my practice I have worked with people facing a range of life's challenges, including complex relationships, family and childhood difficulties, trauma, and transitions such as loss -this may sometimes present as depression, anxiety, addiction or low self-esteem. I have also worked with clients exploring identity, neurodivergence, sexuality, gender and eco-anxiety. I find it meaningful to accompany and support people through these experiences.

As an organisational therapist, I have also worked with people facing the complexities of working-life — whether that is workplace relationships, institutional dynamics, burnout, leadership, or the personal impact of professional roles.

My professional experience spans private practice, third-sector organisations, nature-based settings, criminal justice, and community projects. I value the thoughtful engagement that working with difference requires, and I welcome clients with diverse life experiences and beliefs.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold an MA in Art Psychotherapy and a Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy Supervision. I have undertaken extensive further training across a number of specialist areas.

In the field of trauma, I have trained in Somatic Interventions as well as the application of art therapy with trauma. I have done an advanced art therapy training with a mentalisation-based approach, as well as undertaking specialist mentalisation-based therapy trainings with the Anna Freud Centre, working with both adults and adolescents.

My psychoanalytic and psychodynamic training includes various programmes with the Tavistock and Portman Clinic, covering risk, group work, reflective practice, systemic family therapy, and adolescent development.

Nature-based therapy is an area of particular depth in my practice. I have trained in outdoor and experiential therapy across Spain, Belgium, and the UK, and I bring an eco-aware perspective to my work. I have contributed chapters to two Routledge publications on outdoor and nature-based art therapy, published in journals including Therapy Today and the International Journal of Art Therapy, and presented at international conferences.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BPC
British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC)

The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.

BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
