About me
Does finding the right therapist for you almost feel like a minefield right now?
Well, Hey am Karly
Hopefully I can help make this journey feel a much easier process....
I have been working within the therapeutic field for 7 years now as a Psychotherapist. I have experience with clients of all age groups from 4yrs+. I also offer therapy services for couples and families. I feel that being able to offer a unique, creative and individual approach to each client is vital in therapy as we all know that everyone's world is different through their eyes. This has been the driving force to better understand in depth how to work with numerous challenges that clients may face. My approach to client work is completely tailored to meet your therapy goals and therefore completely unique to you.
I have vast training, knowledge and experience in many areas of difficulties faced by clients which includes but is not limited to:
Neurodivergence (ADHD and Autism), PDA (Pathological demand avoidance), Attachment, Addiction, OCD, intrusive thoughts, eating disorders, domestic violence, challenging behaviours, anxiety and depression, low self esteem, loss, grief and trauma.
My belief in counselling begins with empowering children, YP and adults to find their true self by embarking on a journey of self exploration and self discovery within their own life journey.
My mission as a therapist is to support clients of all ages to develop a deep understanding of self and how their world looks through their eyes to better find ways to thrive and live well balanced, happy lives.
I am a BA (Hons) degree level trained psychotherapist, and a registered member on the BACP for counselling and psychotherapy. I am fully insured and enhanced DBS checked. I also hold certification in safeguarding children, YP and vulnerable adults.
Please feel free to drop me an email, call or text if you would like to discuss my services further or have any questions that i can help you with.
Training, qualifications & experience
My training began with an BA(Hons) degree in Counselling. Alongside this, I have undertaken further counselling training in different approaches to widen my abilities within client work. My training includes a diploma in CBT, play therapy, CBT techniques for children, Level 3 safeguarding vulnerable adults and children, Understanding Autism, understanding how to support individuals with Autism spectrum disorder, a certificate in PDA - the insider perspective, criminal exploitation and county lines training, An accredited diploma in family and couples counselling and Grief and Bereavement.
Further to this I have attended training in a variety of areas covering neurodiversity and working with this specific client group, attachment, OCD, trauma, addiction and bereavement. Furthermore, I have gained an accredited certification in Clinical supervision to be able to support other therapists with their progression within the field of psychotherapy.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
