About me
Hello and welcome. I am a trauma-informed and neuro-inclusive Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor with over 17 years of experience supporting clients. I am based in Sheffield for in person appointments and online and over the telephone across the UK.
When you are feeling depressed, anxious, or overwhelmed, just getting through the day can feel difficult. Coping with emotional problems can be hard, but you don't have to do it alone. I have a range of counselling services to suit everybody.
I offer appointments to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
I am a psychodynamically and integratively trained counsellor and psychotherapist which means that we can work together to build a tool kit of strategies and skills to help you day-to-day whilst exploring the root cause of your difficulties.
Counselling looks different for each person. No two counselling relationships are the same. My flexible and inclusive approach helps me to tailor our sessions to fully meet your requirements.
Ways to work together
Consultation - The first step to working together is to book a free telephone consultation. This is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have and to tell me a little about what is bringing you to counselling at this point. If you decide you would like to work together, we can then book your first session.
Face to face - In person counselling sessions are available from my peaceful therapy room in Broomhill, Sheffield. The room is spacious and comfortable, offering an ideal setting to explore your difficulties.
Online/Telephone - I offer online and telephone appointments from my home office in the Peak District. Whether you are looking to work regularly online or over the telephone or wish to add this flexibility to your in-person appointments, I can accommodate this. I use MS Teams, ideal for individual, family, and couples appointments.
Outdoors - Outdoor, individual and group counselling sessions are available at various locations across the Peak District and High Peak. Individual sessions can be seated, 'walk and talk' or a blend of both.
I am an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Code of Ethics and Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I receive regular professional supervision and participate in frequent Continued Professional Development to ensure that I provide the highest level of service. I am fully insured, hold an enhanced DBS certificate and I am fully up to date with safeguarding training.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist with over 10 years’ experience in general counselling practice, alongside more than 17 years’ therapeutic experience as a Complementary Therapist. I have supported people presenting with a wide range of difficulties, including trauma, grief, loss, bereavement, anxiety, depression, low self‑esteem, low confidence, family difficulties, relationship issues, domestic abuse, and neurodivergence.
I have significant experience working with individuals affected by complex and developmental trauma, those in end‑of‑life care and people navigating pre and post bereavement and loss. I have also worked extensively with survivors of domestic abuse, and veterans offering safe, trauma‑informed therapeutic support.
In addition to my clinical work, I have previously lectured for the University of Derby (Buxton) on their Counselling Diploma Course.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
