About me

Are you a parent wanting to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and how you can support your child(ren)? Does your own upbringing differ vastly from the parent you would like to be? Since becoming a parent, have you felt lost, like you don’t have an identity anymore? Does the responsibility of parenting feel overwhelming?

Parenting can be very difficult and stressful at times, yet it is something that we are expected to know how to do with very little support. Sometimes adverse childhood experiences can affect our parenting or the joy of parenting. Different parenting styles can create tension within the home, creating family issues. Relationships can struggle and change or sometimes breakdown completely.

Many parents experience feelings of loneliness and isolation, this has been greatly increased over the past year.

Counselling can support your parenting in many ways. Whether you want to explore your past to help understand how it could be affecting your current experiences, identify hereditary parenting patterns to enable you make informed choices. Nurture the bond between you and your child(ren); explore ways that you could co-parent more peacefully or move towards finding the illusive balance in life. Perhaps you need a private space that it solely for you to explore your needs.

I am a counsellor who is there for you, who understands your path and choices and offers you a supportive space to explore your needs or simply to be listened to, without judgement or agenda.

I am a psychodynamically and integratively trained counsellor and psychotherapist which enables me to draw on a wealth of theories, tools and techniques to fully tailor my service to meet your needs.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I receive regular professional supervision and participate in frequent Continued Professional Development to ensure that I provide the highest level of service. I am fully insured and hold an enhance DBS certificate.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
