About me

Hi, my name is Karen Shore and I'm a qualified and experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor, hypnotherapist and coach. I believe that everyone is capable of change, my passion is to support people to work through what is holding them back, causing concern or issues. Together we work to make a plan to address issues, talk through thoughts, feelings and use tools and techniques that can really bring about a positive change. I know it can sometimes be daunting opening up and facing the things that are painful, however with my help you can do this. Sessions are flexible to suit you. We take one step at a time.

With over 7 years of experience in my private practice, I have a wide range of experience, knowledge and expertise, including grief and loss, health, anxiety, depression, abuse, autism, ADHD and stress management issues. I can help if you are feeling stuck, have fears or phobias, have experienced trauma, overwhelm or confusion, now could be the time to talk.

If you do choose to get in touch, you will be met with warmth, empathy and care, I offer a free telephone or video call consultation to check out if we think we can work together. My sessions are currently online and can be weekly or fortnightly, becoming more infrequent, they can be short or longer term. I remain available for check ins as and when needed.

Training, qualifications & experience

During my training, I volunteered at a local hospice, where I gained experience in supporting people through their loss and grief. I have also worked with people who have a life limiting condition to help them to cope with their diagnosis and the impact that has on them and their loved ones.

Continuing in my private practice during the past 7 years I have worked with a range of people with a variety of presenting issues, such as phobias, anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, rape and sexual abuse, health anxiety and more.

My qualifications:

I hold an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling & Hypnotherapy.

A level 5 Coaching professional qualification.

Core Competence for Working Therapeutically with Children & Young people (CASY)

CPD: Intro to PTSD and Trauma, Safeguarding, Rape & Sexual Abuse Counselling, Understanding ADHD and Anxiety Disorder, Working with Stuck and Resistant Clients, Treating Envy and Jealously

I am registered with the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society & Hypnotherapy Society. I also volunteer as a counsellor with the NHS.
