About me

A Compassionate Space for Healing, Growth and Connection

Hello and thank you for considering my profile.

I am a fully qualified psychotherapeutic integrative counsellor offering therapy for both individuals and couples. Whether you are facing personal challenges, struggling in a romantic relationship or trying to navigate difficult family dynamics, I provide a safe, professional and compassionate space where we can make sense of what is happening together.

I believe that every person, couple and family story is unique. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, I work collaboratively with you to understand your experiences, your patterns and what you hope might change.

Relationships Matter

Many of the difficulties we experience in life happen within relationships. You may find yourselves having the same arguments over and over again, feeling distant from one another, struggling to communicate, rebuilding trust after a rupture or simply wondering how you ended up feeling so disconnected.

I have experience working with couples from a variety of backgrounds, including both heterosexual and LGBTQ+ relationships, as well as family members who want to better understand one another and strengthen their connection.

Couples counselling is not about deciding who is right or wrong. My role is to create a balanced and supportive environment where everyone can feel heard, where difficult conversations can happen safely and where new ways of relating can begin to emerge.

For individuals, relationship difficulties often remain an important part of our work too. Together we can explore patterns around attachment, boundaries, self-esteem, loss, trauma and the ways past experiences may continue to shape your present relationships.

A Personalised Approach

Life can be complex and feelings of anxiety, depression, loneliness, grief, stress and overwhelm can leave us feeling stuck. I tailor my approach to meet your individual needs, drawing on a range of well-established therapeutic models while remaining flexible and responsive to what feels most helpful for you.

My work is also informed by an understanding of trauma, attachment and neurodiversity, recognising that our experiences and nervous systems can profoundly influence how we see ourselves and connect with others.

Experience and Areas of Support

Alongside relationship and couples work, I support clients with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, PTSD, addiction, bereavement, stress, panic attacks, social anxiety, loneliness, neurodivergence and adult diagnoses such as ADHD and Autism, as well as the lasting impact of abuse and neglect.

A Collaborative Therapeutic Relationship

The relationship we build in therapy is an important part of the healing process. I aim to offer a partnership characterised by openness, honesty and compassion, creating a space where you can explore thoughts and feelings that may have been difficult to share elsewhere.

Finding the Right Therapist

Choosing a counsellor is an important decision. I offer a free introductory session, giving us the opportunity to get to know one another, explore what brings you to therapy and consider whether we feel like the right fit.

Taking the first step can feel daunting, but you do not have to face life’s challenges alone. I look forward to the possibility of working with you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a BSc (Hons) Degree in Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling.

I have a Certificate in Couple Counselling - trained by Dr Paul Hitchings.

I am a member of both the UKCP and BACP and an integral part of my practice is working to their ethical and professional standards.

As well as private practice, I have worked as a counsellor for Emerging Futures / CGL specialising in addiction, I have been a recovery worker for Together (NIHCSS) and also as a Women's Wellbeing Coach with St Giles Trust working with women on probation. As part of these communities, I have attended regular CPD events to ensure I am continually developing my counselling approach and skills.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
