About me

I offer counselling in person or online. I am an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and work to their ethical guidelines. This means that your confidentiality is protected, we work towards mutually agreed goals, and we will discuss together how long therapy will last.

My counselling style is warm and interactive which means I will respond thoughtfully to what you say and am happy to answer (some of) your questions about myself if you have any. There may well be laughter, tears, silence or animated discussion at various points in our sessions. I believe that therapy happens in the space that we create together, when we both feel safe enough to be honest with each other.

I am a client-led therapist, which means that we will go at your pace and I won't push you to talk about anything you don't want to. You can talk as much or as little as you like, and you can ask me to adapt the therapy to whatever helps you to feel ... how you want to feel. Comfortable? Engaged? Maybe you would like me to ask you more (or less) questions, or turn up the heating or close the blinds. Maybe you would like to do some colouring while we talk, or wear sunglasses. Maybe you would like to have longer or shorter sessions, or meet more or less frequently.

I am a late-diagnosed autistic person and I have undertaken extra reading and training to find out more about neurodivergence.

If you are caring for a baby you are welcome to bring them along if that makes it easier for you to access counselling. My garden room is safe for babies who are crawling.

I offer an initial 10-15 minute chat so we can get to know each other a little and see if we want to work together.

There are no stairs to negotiate, just one step over the threshold into the garden room. A wheelchair or mobility scooter could come down the driveway and into the first part of the garden, but then there is about an 8 metre walk down a garden path.
