About me
Whether you are new to counselling or wishing to continue with ongoing therapy, we can start by identifying your individual needs and work together to develop an approach that will best support you.
I can offer you a compassionate, non-judgemental and accepting space (via face-to-face, telephone or Google Meet) where you can freely explore your unique situation, your thoughts and your feelings.
If you are suffering as a result of a bereavement, anxiety, depression or loneliness, as an Integrative Counsellor, I can provide a bespoke service for your individual needs. I use Person Centred Therapy which places you at the centre of our work and as the expert in your own life. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy tools are also used to explore any thoughts, feelings and behaviours that may not be serving you well. My aim is to support you in looking to notice where small changes could be made to bring about positive growth and self-compassion.
Are you struggling in your role as a parent or carer? If so, I can offer you an empathetic ear whilst providing support and strategies to help you identify and address patterns of thinking and behaviour that lead to overwhelm and keep negative cycles going.
I am DBS checked and have extensive experience in working with adults and young people for a wide range of presenting concerns and offer a free 20-minute initial consultation.
I am not looking to keep you in therapy for months. I recognise that you have an untapped potential to be your own therapist and so, in between sessions with me, I will provide you with resources so that you can learn more about yourself.
Please do not hesitate to email me with any questions. I would be more than happy to hear from you.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Review:
Julia is just amazing, after such a short time I have gained such a huge insight into the reasons behind my thoughts, feelings and behaviour and she’s helping me build the emotional toolbox I need to be happy.
Written on Jul 16, 2023 after therapy with Julia for 3 months on issues concerning addictions, family conflicts, parenting issues, self esteem, compassion fatigue, and adhd
