About me

I am a counsellor working face to face and online with young people age 16+ helping them find their voice and help them to improve their mental health and self-esteem. I have over 20 years experience of working with young people as a mentor and support worker. I am a qualified counsellor and have a passion for working with this age group.

I have a special interest in Autism, LGBTQ+ and men's mental health. Working with young people is my dream, I love their energy, enthusiasm and their ability to change their own lives. I know this is what I am meant to do.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a BA (Hons) in Counselling, from Sunderland University. I am a person-centred counsellor who also uses an eclectic approach, working creatively with some clients.

I work with what the client brings to the session offering a place to feel their feelings and feel supported.

I have attended many CPD courses, on suicidal ideation, self-harm, neurodiversity, LGBTQ+ clients to name a few.

I used to be a support worker with young homeless people and also a drug and alcohol worker, so have a lot of experience working with this age group.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
