About me

I am a counsellor working face to face and online with young people age 16+ helping them find their voice and help them to improve their mental health and self-esteem. I have over 20 years experience of working with young people as a mentor and support worker. I am a qualified counsellor and have a passion for working with this age group.

I have a special interest in Neurodivergence, Autism, ADHD,  LGBTQ+ and men's mental health. Working with young people is my dream, I love their energy, enthusiasm and their ability to change their own lives. I know this is what I am meant to do.

I also work with adults with a range of issues, especially late questioning or diagnosis neurodivergence. Helping clients to make sense of their life and learn to be happy with themselves. Parenting a child or teenager who is neurodivergent can be challenging and I can help you navigate family life.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a BA (Hons) in Counselling, from Sunderland University. I am a person-centred counsellor who also uses an eclectic approach, working creatively with some clients.

I work with what the client brings to the session offering a place to feel their feelings and feel supported.

I have attended many CPD courses, on suicidal ideation, self-harm, neurodiversity, LGBTQ+ clients, pregnancy and baby loss.

I used to be a support worker with young homeless people and also a drug and alcohol worker, so have a lot of experience working with this age group.
