About me
My name is Jo and I am a fully qualified integrative Counsellor . This means I have several different approaches that I use when helping you to overcome any difficulties you may be having.
Do you feel you are struggling? has life thrown up things you hadn’t expected? Do your past experiences still affect you. Life can be difficult and challenging, you may be having difficult emotions & trying to cope in your own way. It may be that you have had a bereavement, you may be suffering from anxiety or even having panic attacks. Do you find it hard to switch off your mind at night and have trouble sleeping or over thinking. Are you having issues in your relationships or work.
Humans are naturally sociable; they enjoy the company of others and want positive interactions and meaningful friendships. Good relationships are important for our wellbeing and mental health, which means when our relationships suffer, our health and happiness is also affected.
If you feel you want to unpick your thoughts and change the way you are thinking, then counselling can help you. Having counselling may seem daunting, but you have made the first step in looking at this web site.
I can offer you a safe and secure place to talk, where you can feel understood & accepted. I believe that trust and the therapeutic relationship between counsellor and client is essential to the work we do. We can explore your difficult thoughts and feelings that are affecting you and your everyday life, all in a confidential setting.
I can offer you a variety of ways to help you explore your difficulties. My approach is to empower you, to help you make sense of what is going on and assist you in finding out what helps you to cope and have a better life.
These sessions can be face to face, on-line or telephone counselling, whatever suits you best. I offer both short term counselling and long-term open ended counselling to adults.
I regularly attend CPD workshops and supervision to enhance my practice. I am fully insured and registered with the DBS update service.
I offer Daytime, Evenings and Saturday Morning appointments.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
