About me
I am a qualified counsellor in Hertford offering counselling and psychotherapy for adults in Hertford and the surrounding areas. I provide in person counselling in Hertford, online therapy, and where appropriate and agreed in advance, home visits for clients who are unable to attend sessions in person or access online support.
Reaching out for therapy can feel daunting. You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or carrying experiences that are hard to speak about. I work with trauma, addiction, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, and difficulties linked to childhood or dysfunctional family relationships. If you are looking for counselling in Hertford for trauma or attachment related issues, you are very welcome to contact me.
As a Gestalt therapist, I work in a relational and collaborative way. I believe therapy is built on trust, honesty and genuine human connection. I offer a confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and explore your experiences at your own pace.
I have a particular interest in attachment and how early childhood experiences shape the way we relate to ourselves and others. Many of the coping strategies that once helped us survive can later leave us feeling stuck in patterns of anxiety, addiction, low self worth or disordered eating. Together we can gently bring awareness to these patterns and support meaningful change.
Alongside my professional training, I bring personal understanding. I have experienced my own journey and I have engaged deeply in my own therapy. I understand how vulnerable it can feel to share shame-filled or painful experiences. Creating emotional safety, respect and warmth is at the heart of my work.
My counselling practice in Hertford is guided by the BACP Ethical Framework and a commitment to ethical, reflective practice.
If you are searching for a counsellor in Hertford who offers compassionate support for trauma, addiction, eating disorders or attachment difficulties, I would be glad to hear from you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
