About me
Hi, I'm Jess, welcome to my profile. I am an integrative counsellor who endeavours to offer a warm, safe, relaxed environment where you feel heard and I help to facilitate healing, growth and change.
Are you finding relationships difficult? Feeling stuck in a rut? Or possibly struggling to move on from something in your past?
I have a degree in person centered counselling and psychotherapy, as well as further training in CBT, solution focused therapy and transactional analysis. I have a holistic approach to your situation and offer support tailored to you, your needs and your journey.
I feel it is essential that we work collaboratively to find a therapeutic pathway to suit you. With experience working with a range of mental health issues, childhood trauma, domestic abuse, bereavement and neurodiversity, I am sure that together we can begin to lay the path for forward movement, whether that be through long or short term support.
Training, qualifications & experience
Following completion of BSc Counselling and Psychotherapy, I have completed numerous further training courses including:
- Working with Neurodiversity
- Understanding ADHD
- Working with depression and anxiety
- Exploring the relationship between depression and anxiety
- Young people's wellbeing
- Adolescent mental health
- Death, dying and grief
- Intergenerational trauma
- Mindfulness Meditation
- Mindful Resilience
- Understanding the spectrum of domestic abuse
- Solution focused practice
- Transactional analysis
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
I have worked as a therapist in a corporate setting with a big, well known mental health organisation as well as in the charity sector with both large and small charities. This means that I have experience working with a diverse range of clients in a range of situations.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
