About me

Hi, I'm Jess.

Firstly, I want to acknowledge that taking the first step toward finding a counsellor can feel daunting, so I want to thank you for taking the time to visit my profile. You might be here because you are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or weighed down by stress, or perhaps you’re navigating trauma or relationship challenges and looking for a way to process and move forward. Whatever you’re experiencing, you deserve a safe and supportive space to explore these feelings.

As a person-centred counsellor with an interest in psychodynamic approaches, I aim to provide a warm, non-judgemental, and empathic environment where you can explore your feelings, relationships, and experiences at your own pace. My role is to walk beside you as you uncover deeper self-understanding and develop greater self-acceptance.

I specialise in Inner Child work, which is particularly helpful for exploring childhood difficulties or trauma. This process often involves guided visualisations, connecting with past experiences, and practising “re-parenting” techniques to nurture and heal your inner self.

I believe deeply in the empowering nature of person-centred therapy, which creates space for you to feel fully seen, heard, and accepted. As Carl Rogers said: “The gentle and sensitive companionship of an empathic stance… provides illumination and healing.”

Finding the right counsellor is an important step and I offer a free 10-minute consultation to discuss your needs and to see if we’re a good fit. Feel free to get in touch—I’d love to hear from you!

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
