About me

Maybe you've been keeping things together and it's starting to cost you. Maybe something happened that you haven't fully processed. Maybe you can't put your finger on it, but you know things aren't right. Wherever you are - overwhelmed, stuck, or just aware that something needs to change -this is a place to bring it as it is.

I'm Jess, a qualified integrative therapist and BACP Registered Member, and I've worked with people through some of the most painful and complicated experiences a person can face.

My approach is honest, curious, and compassionate. I'll tell you what I notice, ask the questions worth asking, and name the thing in the room when it needs naming - but only once trust is there.

What I won’t do is shy away from the difficult stuff when it comes up, or let us stay on the surface when something more important is waiting underneath. Working with me means real empathy, kindness and care. I’ll be with you in the hard stuff, and help you start to make sense of it. We’ll always work at your pace, and with your best hopes in mind.

Sessions are one-to-one, online, and built entirely around you. There's no jargon, no fixed script, and no pretending things are simpler than they are.

If you've been carrying something you've never quite found the words for, or never felt safe enough to say, this is a place you can bring it.

I’m here for the things that are difficult to say out loud, and sometimes difficult to make sense of at all. Perhaps we might work well together.

We might be a good fit if…

  • You want a therapist who remembers the details - it makes you feel seen and heard
  • You’re interested in figuring out the ‘why’, and want someone curious who’ll unravel it with you
  • You need someone who’ll tell you what they notice, not just nod along
  • You need trust to come first - and you know that sometimes takes time to build
  • You know you’re self-reflective and ready to do the work - you just want someone who really cares alongside you

Free introductory call, always

I believe that talking really helps. If you are interested in counselling and psychotherapy, or you just have some questions, please get in touch.

An introductory call with me is always free and no-obligation. We’ll spend 20 minutes or so discussing:

  • what brings you to counselling
  • how I work as a therapist
  • what your best hopes are

We’ll also have time to answer any questions you may have. You don’t have to know exactly what to say, we’ll figure it out together.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • MBACP Registered Member, British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, CPCAB
  • Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies, CPCAB
  • Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills, CPCAB
  • Masters Degree, University College London
  • Masters Degree, University of Cambridge

My work is underpinned by trauma-informed principles. Before moving into private practice, I trained within New Pathways (the largest rape, sexual assault, and sexual violence support provider in Wales), and volunteered within a low-cost counselling service supporting rural communities and LGBTQIA+ individuals.

Many people feel uncertain before reaching out - about whether what they're going through ‘counts’, whether therapy is right for them, or whether they’re ready. People come to therapy for all kinds of reasons, and I have supported clients through issues including:

  • Anxiety and panic attacks
  • New diagnoses (neurodivergence, disability or long term illness)
  • Stress, overwhelm and burnout
  • Sex and relationship difficulties
  • Depression
  • Grief and loss
  • Self-confidence and identity
  • Life transitions
  • Work, career and caring pressures

I also work with people navigating things that are harder to say out loud - trauma, abuse, affairs, betrayal, estrangement.

I particularly enjoy working with eldest daughters and high-achieving, self-aware women, who find themselves feeling stuck, dissatisfied, or anxious. I also work with a number of medical professionals, focussing on issues such as burnout, perfectionism, disillusionment, moral injury, and the taxing demands of the NHS.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

Sessions are held online and last 60 minutes. Each session costs £55, with concessionary fees available for trainee therapists/counselling students.

I offer daytime and evening sessions, Monday - Friday. Some people find it helpful to meet at the same time each week - the regularity can feel reassuring and give a sense of rhythm to the work. But this doesn’t work for everyone, so whether you’re juggling shift patterns, caring responsibilities, or a schedule that simply changes week to week, we’ll find an approach that fits around your life.

There is never any expectation that you commit to a minimum or maximum number of sessions. Whether you’re looking for short-term support around something specific, or longer-term space to explore things more deeply, you are free to start and finish counselling whenever feels right for you.
