About me
Are you feeling burnt out or overwhelmed?
There can be times when life feels like a constant struggle.
Whether you're struggling with a constant cycle of anxiety, having a relationship breakdown, grieving a loss, or maybe you struggle with a chronic illness?
It takes courage to seek help, to find someone who will really listen.
I hope you find what I write below helpful in navigating your next steps to getting the support you need. Whether you wish to be in the big outdoors walking/sitting and talking or making use of being able to meet online.
I love to work with clients or carers/family members struggling with the journey of ME/CFS/Long Covid. Having personal and professional experience in this I know how life can become incredibly isolated. How it is so easy to lose hope. Often it's hard to maintain friendships and there is so much guilt that you can feel for not being the person you want to be for others. Coping with the loss of dreams and hopes you had. Accepting where you are right now might feel unbearable?
I also have experience in helping people with ADHD to manage life and live fully.
I have run my private practice for nearly 10 years now.
My aim as a counsellor is to facilitate that space for you to help you find hope again and a way forward.
Or just to sit in that dark place with you so you aren't alone in it.
I also have experience in working with
- Anxiety
- ADHD
- depression/low mood
- miscarriage
- loss/grief
- relational struggles
- trauma
- stress/burnout/overwhelm
- mood swings
- low self esteem
- shame
- CFS/ME
- lack of purpose or identity
- a sense of emptiness and meaninglessness.
If you don't identify with the issues I have listed please do discuss with me what you need, and what your hopes are for our work together.
You may be coming about something specific, possibly just wanting to delve deeper into yourself and grow some understanding. Quite often people reach out for counselling because they feel that they are at a turning point in they're lives and want to talk and reflect on where they are at and get clarity on where to step next.
My hope is that there are ways in which we can work together which suits your journey right now.
What now?:
I offer a free 20 minute assessment so that we can discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and how we might work together.
I believe that a clients relationship with their counsellor is key because there needs to be trust and a sense of safety for you as a client to talk about things that come from a vulnerable place in your life. All discussions with you will be handled sensitively and confidentially.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
If you are getting in contact with me because you are needing help and support due to having ME/CFS then please do mention this to me.
I can discuss and tailor sessions and length of sessions to your needs to make counselling work for you. I am very aware that when unwell with a chronic illness 50 minutes might feel very daunting and I don't want this to be a block to you reaching out for help.
If you are local I can provide home visits but would need to discuss properly first to figure out the best plan for you.
