Jennifer McQuaid

Warrington, Cheshire, WA2

About me

I am an ABC Accredited Therapeutic Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I offer Counselling in a number of ways, which enables you to have choices in the way we work together:

  • Online counselling via Zoom/Skype
  • Telephone counselling
  • Email
  • Home visits within the Warrington area

Why choose my services?

I have Lived experience.
I have lived through and more importantly, worked through many of the issues that motivate people to seek out counselling.

This lived experience is advantageous in regards to the therapeutic relationship, as I have the ability to deeply understand the experiences you share with me, having experienced a lot of them myself. This benefits you, because you get to work with a therapist that actually understands the experiences you have gone through in the past or may be currently going through. This allows you to feel seen & heard in a nonjudgmental way, which helps build feelings of safety & trust between us, allowing you to truly work through vulnerable issues that may cause you to feel deep shame, so that you can begin to build self worth & have a deeper understanding of yourself.

I am a very down to earth, warm & approachable person. I bring myself fully to our sessions, just as I am & I ask the same from my clients. Being able to be ourselves within the therapeutic relationship is the best way for us to make progress as we work together.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information

A lot of people truly want to work on themselves & know who they are, so they can experience true self acceptance & inner peace. However, we live in a world that has taught us that to look after ourselves is ‘selfish’.

As a result, we don’t naturally invest our hard earned money in ourselves in a meaningful way & instead spend it on ‘quick fixes’ or ‘instant gratification’ products such as - alcohol, clothes, food, holidays etc.

Counselling is an emotional, spiritual & mental health investment, that will truly bring about long term positive benefits with time, trust & commitment to the process.
