About me
Hello, I'm Jeanette. I provide a safe, non-judgmental and supportive space for clients to explore their own journey towards emotional wellbeing. As an independent integrative counsellor, I can help individuals find their own path to inner peace at their own pace. I offer face-to-face or online counselling sessions that last 50 minutes and take place on a regular basis at the same time each week.
Counselling can help you manage and cope with difficult life events, relationship problems, upsetting or traumatic experiences, whether it's something recent or something that happened a long time ago. I am aware of how difficult it can be to take the first step in choosing a counsellor. It can be quite scary, so it is important that you choose the right counsellor for you.
For this reason, I offer a free, initial 20 minute telephone or online conversation, where we can have a brief chat about any questions you may have. Hopefully, this will help you decide if I am the right counsellor for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified integrative counsellor which enables me to use a number of theories and interventions which suit you, the individual client, at that time.
. I have a BA (Hons) First degree in Contemporary Relational Counselling.
. I have a Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies
. I have a Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Studies
I hold an enhanced DBS certificate to enable me to work with Adults, Children and Young People. As well as my private practice I work within an organisation seeing Children, Young People and Adults who have been victims of crime.
I am a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) ensuring I practice safely for you, the client and myself, within their ethical framework.
I am also registered with the ICO (Information Commissioners Office) making me aware of my legal obligations when processing any personal information.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
