About me
My name is Jean-Paul, I’m a qualified counsellor and Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I offer one to one sessions in person from my office in Bank, London and I also offer online counselling. Alongside private practise, I work with Help Counselling and have previously worked with Cruse bereavement counselling service.
My training and approach is Integrative which means that I use a variety of counselling modalities. My focus is on Person Centred skills but I also draw from a range of other styles including psychodynamic, humanistic, CBT.
I offer a safe and non-judgemental space where clients can feel heard and supported in their therapeutic journey. I can support in exploring a client's narrative and becoming more aware of what the past and present experiences have created, and how they impact their current life. This can help clients to discover how they can start to make and maintain positive changes for the future.
I work with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, shame, codependence, bereavement, ADHD, autism, neurodiversity, reactiveness, anger, substance misuse, self harm. I can help clients regulate their emotions using the following: Yoga, breath work, mindfulness, music.
I offer a free 20 minute online chat to see if we feel that we can work together. If you are thinking of reaching out then I would love to hear from you. Also - my dog Coco is also available during sessions. He is very popular with clients - he does not malt and is very gentle and friendly. Please ask before sessions as this needs to be arranged.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
