Hi, I'm Jayney, I love helping others understand what is sometimes the jumbled mess of life. Are you are struggling to make head nor tail of or emotions and behaviours that are getting the better of you?
I offering face to face and online sessions and a safe confidential space. I am trained in integrative Counselling. This means that I use a variety of different modalities. I use psychodynamic, person-centred, CBT and creative therapies and some other methods. One of my strong beliefs is that we cannot be pigeon-holed; we are incredible, unique and individual and therefore to work well with people we need to find your way and what works best for you. We can the things that are troubling you such as Anxiety, Depression, Sadness, Redundancy, Family issues, Work-related stress, Eating disorders, Bereavement, Relationship Breakdown, Childhood issues, Spirituality or anything else you want to look at.
The first step can often be nerve-wracking but it is so worth taking the plunge and moving towards wholeness and freedom.
I offer an initial session to see what you are looking for and to see how we get on. There is no pressure on you to commit let's just chat see how it goes. Then we can move on from there.
As well as having my private practice, I also volunteer my time in Edinburgh with a charity counselling service. I have a small number of spaces with concessional rates for students.
I am committed to continuing to further my education as a part of my ongoing practice.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
