About me
I am a Clinical Psychologist, chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC; Registration Number: PYL35936). I am also an IEDTA accredited ISTDP psychotherapist as well as an accredited MBT supervisor by the Anna Freud Centre. I am the founder and director of ISTDP-North, the first company in the North West to deliver effective and evidence-based ISTDP interventions for individuals, groups and couples.
I have an extensive background and specialist clinical expertise in adult mental health. My approach to psychotherapy is ambitious, I seek not only to help you reduce your symptoms significantly but also to support you in having more fulfilling relationships and quality of life.
Experience
I currently work with adults experiencing a wide range of psychological and emotional difficulties both in the NHS and in private practice. I have specialist training in working with people who experience different issues such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, obsessive thinking, panic attacks, bereavement, anger, eating disorders, interpersonal difficulties or low self-esteem among others.
Psychotherapies Offered
I have specialised and accredited training in the following treatment methods:
- Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP)
- Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
- Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT)
Languages
I can provide therapy in English and Spanish.
Beginning of Therapy
(1) Telephone consultation
I offer an initial free 15 minute telephone consultation, in which you can briefly outline what you would like help with. This would allow us to decide whether is appropriate to arrange an initial assessment.
(2) Assessment
The initial assessment is longer, and can take up to three hours. This is usually divided in two different sessions. This would allow us time to get a comprehensive understanding of your difficulties, and design a treatment plan that is tailored to your needs.
(3) Follow-Up
If we both agree to work together, we will arrange follow-up appointments. These appointments are often weekly and fortnightly and they last between 60 to 90 minutes.
Fees
120£/60 minutes
