About me

I am a Clinical Psychologist, chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC; Registration Number: PYL35936). I have an extensive background and specialist clinical expertise in adult mental health difficulties. My approach to psychotherapy is ambitious, I seek not only to help you reduce your symptoms significantly but also to support you in having more fulfilling relationships and quality of life.

I currently work with adults experiencing a wide range of psychological and emotional difficulties both in the NHS and in private practice. I have specialist training in working with people who experience different issues such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, panic attacks, bereavement, anger, interpersonal difficulties, a sense of being lost in life or guilt with no obvious reasons as to why. I also have experience in working with people with physical health issues further complicated by emotional distress such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, non-epileptic seizures, IBS etc.

Psychotherapies Offered

  • Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP)
  • Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
  • Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT)
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

I specialize and primarily work from a psychodynamic and attachment based perspective due to its effectiveness with a wide range of difficulties and the possibilities it offers not just of symptom reduction but also of helping people achieve a more fulfilling life.

I can provide therapy in English and Spanish.

Beginning of Therapy

(1) Telephone consultation

I offer an initial free 15 minute telephone consultation, in which you can briefly outline what you would like help with. This would allow us to decide whether is appropriate to arrange an initial assessment.

(2) Assessment

The initial assessment is longer, and can take up to three hours. This is usually divided in two different sessions. This would allow us time to get a comprehensive understanding of your difficulties, and design a treatment plan that is tailored to your needs.

(3) Follow-Up

If we both agree to work together, we will arrange follow-up appointments, which would usually be at a mutually agreed consistent day and time. Depending on the therapeutic approach and your needs, sessions can last 50, 60 or 90 minutes.
