Supervision details
Dr Javier Malda Castillo (DClinPsy) is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
He is an accredited Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT) therapist and supervisor through the Anna Freud Centre. Javier is also a Group Analytic Practitioner and Associate Member of the Institute of Group Analysis (IGA). He has completed advanced individual psychodynamic psychotherapy training with the Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust (D58 and D59).
Javier is a certified teacher and supervisor in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) with the International Experiential Dynamic Therapy Association (IEDTA).
He is the Founder and Director of ISTDP-North, where he leads introductory and core ISTDP training programmes delivered nationally and internationally.
Alongside his private clinical and supervisory work, Javier is employed within the National Health Service (NHS), where he works as a psychotherapy service lead.
His ISTDP practice was originally influenced by Dr Robert Neborsky. Since 2020, he has undertaken advanced training and supervision with Dr Josette ten Have-de Labije.

Individual supervision: £150/90 minutes

A 20% reduction is available for supervisees currently enrolled in an IEDTA-accredited Core Training programme.
Supervision is available both face-to-face and online.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
