About me
As a therapist, I offer a space for you to talk about the things that can be tricky to think about alone or share with loved ones.
We all go through difficult and sometimes traumatic experiences that impact how we think and feel. I work with clients to talk through these experiences in a safe and non-judgemental environment. Together, we can identify how your unique experiences influence how you think and feel about yourself, others, and the world around you.
We will work to challenge and change behaviours and thoughts that you want to leave behind whilst learning how to cultivate more peace and joy in day-to-day life – something we all deserve more of!
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a master's degree in Integrative Counselling, which is a fancy way of saying that I can draw on different therapeutic theories and skills depending on your individual needs.
I have completed further training in Compassion Focused Therapy, Existential Psychotherapy, and Trauma-informed practice.
I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach and prefer to collaborate with clients to offer individualised therapy.
Depending on your needs, this could include: exploration of childhood, incorporating neuroscientific understanding, using written and somatic exercises, or just getting back to basics and simply talking it out.
Before training as a therapist, I spent 10 years working in non-for-profits supporting the most vulnerable people in society with their mental and physical well-being. From this work, I am trained and experienced in working with asylum seekers and refugees, survivors of abuse, and sex workers.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
- Identity confusion
- Existential crisis
As a white cis practitioner, I work hard to remain conscious of my position of power as a therapist of this background. I strive to run a gender inclusive, anti-racist practice. I am non-binary and trans allied, LGBTQIA+ allied, and sex worker allied. Please feel free to reach out and ask more about how I create an inclusive, anti-oppressive practice.
