About me
Bluebells & Bays - Counselling and Psychotherapy
Therapy that meets you where you are - and helps you move forward.
Welcome...
I’m Jannine, a fully qualified MBACP counsellor and psychotherapist based in Bridgend, offering therapy for adults (18+) in-person, online, and by phone.
My approach is simple: I offer a calm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can breathe, be heard, and begin to make sense of what’s going on. Whoever you are, and whatever you’re carrying.
About Me
I’m an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, which means I draw from a range of approaches including person-centred, existential, psychodynamic, CBT, and sand tray therapy - and tailor them to suit you. Rather than a “one-size-fits-all” model, we’ll work together in a way that feels right for you, at your own pace.
People often come to me when they’re feeling:
- Overwhelmed, anxious, or low, even if they seem “fine” on the outside
- Stuck in old patterns or self-critical cycles
- Affected by loss, change, or past experiences
- Disconnected, uncertain, or lacking confidence
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone - and things can feel different. Together, we’ll explore what’s happening beneath the surface and build tools that help you feel steadier, calmer, and more connected to yourself and others.
My Approach
Therapy is a collaborative process, not something done to you. My role is to create a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly. You bring your story and your lived experience, because you are the expert in your own life. I bring a warm, grounded presence, clinical training, and nearly two decades of experience supporting people through change.
Our work together might include:
- Understanding patterns that keep you stuck
- Making sense of past experiences or trauma
- Building confidence and self-compassion
- Finding practical tools to manage anxiety or low mood
- Exploring meaning, identity, or direction in life
Inclusivity, Equality & Accessibility
I’m deeply committed to providing therapy that is inclusive, affirming, and accessible. All identities, backgrounds, and experiences are welcome. Your feelings are valid, your story matters, and this space is yours to explore without fear of judgement.
Sessions are available in person (Bridgend) or remotely via secure video or phone, with daytime and limited evening slots to suit different schedules.
What to Expect
1. A gentle first step: In our first session, you don’t need to have the “right words.” I’ll listen and help you share what’s been happening at your own pace.
2. A plan that fits you: Together we’ll agree on what feels most important to focus on and the pace that feels safe for you.
3. Steady progress: Over time, we’ll build insight, resilience, and practical strategies to help you live more fully and confidently.
Therapy can be a powerful act of self-care: a space to reconnect, reset, and rediscover your strength.
Professional Background
Alongside private practice, I’ve spent almost 20 years working in senior leadership roles in the third sector, supporting individuals and communities across areas such as mental health, substance misuse, homelessness, young people, education/ employment, and criminal justice. This experience helps me understand the real-world pressures people face, and to bring compassion, perspective, and pragmatism into my therapy work.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
