BSc MBACP Psychotherapist & Doctorate in Psych (In Progress)

About me

Finding the right therapist for you is a very personal decision and can be daunting and difficult, therefore I offer all prospective clients a free 15-minute phone consultation where we can discuss any questions or concerns that you may have about starting therapy. You can contact me via email to provide your contact details and request a free 15-minute consultation call back from me.

What to expect in your first session

In your first session I will mainly focus on getting to know you and beginning to understand your experiences and your world. The first session won’t necessarily focus on exploring or solving your difficulties in detail but will allow me to gain insight into you as a person and what has brought you to therapy.  I focus on empowering you and working collaboratively with you to help you achieve your therapeutic goals. I aim to bring an empathic and warming presence to your therapy experience.

How our sessions will help

I aim for our sessions to provide you with a sense of empowerment, understanding, knowledge and skills/tools you can take into your everyday life to improve your current functioning. I also aim to provide a regular safe space for you to share some of your thoughts, difficulties or even some of the burden you have been carrying. An opportunity to offload and feel understood, heard and safe.

Specialisms

I specialise in working with Anxiety, Trauma/PTSD and Relationship difficulties/ issues, but can assist with majority of mental health difficulties due to vast experience.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
