About me

I offer a down-to-earth, confidential space where you can talk about whatever’s on your mind, without judgement. I believe we all have times when life feels overwhelming, and having someone who really listens can make a difference. My approach is gentle and supportive, and I’ll walk alongside you as you find the path that's right for you.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and therefore adhere to their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. This means I am committed to working with professionalism, integrity, and respect, ensuring that my practice upholds the highest standards of ethical and safe therapeutic work in the best interests of my clients.

Everyone’s needs are different, so the way I work is really flexible - sometimes that might be short-term, solution-focused sessions, and other times it’s a longer, more personal journey where we explore patterns in relationships, behaviours, and the bigger questions in life. It's up to you, and we will talk about our direction of work when we meet

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Level 4 - Humanistic Integrative Counselling
  • Training in Level 5 - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Humanistic Integrative Counselling is a compassionate and collaborative approach that recognises each person as unique, with their own experiences, needs, and potential for growth. At the heart of my practice is the Person-Centredmodality, which means that you are at the centre of the work - your thoughts, feelings, and pace guide the process. I provide a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore and understand yourself more deeply. Alongside this, I integrate aspects of Transactional Analysis (TA), which helps us explore patterns of communication and behaviour developed through past relationships, and Gestalt Therapy, which focuses on increasing awareness of your present-moment experience and how you relate to the world around you. By blending these approaches, I aim to tailor the therapy to your individual needs, supporting you in developing greater self-understanding, authenticity, and emotional well-being.

I am also currently training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which I can integrate into our work together where it feels helpful. CBT is a structured, evidence-based approach that focuses on the relationship between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It can be particularly useful for managing anxiety, low mood, and unhelpful thinking patterns by developing practical tools and strategies for change. Incorporating elements of CBT allows me to offer a more flexible and holistic approach to therapy, ensuring that the support you receive is tailored to what works best for you

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
