About me
I believe that effective counselling stems from a trusting relationship, where you have the courage to share, with honesty and vulnerability and I will listen, with compassion and empathy.
Counselling is not about telling you what to do; nor is it is a conversation with friends or family. I understand the value of being able to speak with someone independent, when you do not feel able to share with loved ones.
Are you struggling with stress, anxiety, anger, low moods or maybe a mix of emotions that have become overwhelming?
It may be that you are experiencing grief, loss, panic, ruminating thoughts or struggling with sleep.
Sometimes, relationship issues, work pressure, changes in circumstances and life, in general, seem unbearable.
Are you looking for space and time to discuss your worries with someone independent, professional and caring?
I will listen to you, with non-judgement, kindness, empathy and validation. Together, we can build a relationship of trust and work side by side to explore ways to find balance, emotional stability and build resilience.
I offer short term therapy, focusing on immediate solutions or longer-term work, where you can explore in more depth.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am trained, experienced and able to provide counselling that is professional, ethical and effective with empathy and non-judgement.
I provide in-person, online or telephone counselling for adults 18+ in a safe and confidential space.
As an accredited member of the BACP, I work within their ethical framework and have regular Supervision, to support my practice.
My desire to help others has led me to work for a charitable counselling agency and to volunteer at The Hospice in the Weald, working with varying ages and presenting issues.
My training in Transactional Analysis enables me to understand how previous experiences are affecting you now and we can work, together, to change repeating patterns and improve communication skills to help you reach your full potential.
I have trained in Gender, Sexual and Relationship Diversity, this means that when I work with you, I am informed of the significance of these in your life and my practice is inclusive and accepting.
My practice is based at Salomons Estate in Southborough, which offers free parking close to a stunning Victorian mansion set in 36 acres of rolling gardens, parkland and woods, convenient for Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge and surrounding areas and I can meet, in person with you here. Perhaps you may want to extend your session to take some personal time to enjoy the grounds or a coffee in the lounge.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
