About me

I'm Jacob and I am a highly experienced, fully qualified, BABCP-accredited psychotherapist who combines evidence-based practice with a deeply humanistic approach.

My approach is based on authenticity, collaboration and empowerment, providing the conditions to make sense of problems, understand what’s getting in the way, and work towards avenues of growth. My practice is inclusive, with deep respect for your lived experience and autonomy. I work short-, medium-, and long-term, depending on your needs.

A psychotherapist should have the right credentials. Please check these thoroughly. If you choose to work with me, you can rest assured that you will receive fully competent, high quality therapy.

Training, qualifications & experience

My training consists of a BSc in Psychology (Hons), MSc in Health Psychology, PGDip in CBT for Anxiety and Depression, and I am currently undertaking a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. CBT has the strongest evidence-base for depression, anxiety and trauma.

For 10+ years I have worked within applied psychology across NHS, charity, and private sector settings. As a CBT therapist, I have worked with clients across the lifespan with a wide range of issues including depression and low mood; anxiety; trauma (PTSD); childhood trauma (C-PTSD); phobias; panic attacks; obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD); grief and bereavement; low self-esteem; relationship issues; work related stress; life transitions; self-harming behaviours; eating disorders; body dysmorphia; anger; neurodiversity, including ADHD and autism, among many more difficulties.

Further information

My private practice is online. The first step towards meaningful change is to book a free consultation call. I provide this time so that I can better understand what it is you would like to achieve from therapy with myself and how we can achieve that goal together. It also provides the opportunity for you to ask me any questions you have might have.
