About me

I am on annual leave until the w/c 6th Jan 25. I will periodically respond to emails but this may not be as quickly as usual.

Hello and welcome to my page!

I am an Integrative and Relationship Therapist. I work with clients to help them to unpack and process their experiences and material that is effecting how they feel, how they relate to others and their self confidence.

We can’t always control what comes our way; relationship break ups, illness, bereavement, stress at work or within the family, changes in our circumstances, etc. It may feel overwhelming right now, but through therapy you can develop a clarity and strength to navigate a way through it.

Relationships with others are often an extremely significant part of our lives, and rupture or loss of a relationship can be very distressing.  You may also be aware of patterns of how you relate to others – maybe you can see that you are a people pleaser or struggle to set boundaries, taking on too much from others – we can look at where this stems from for you and help you start being aware of your needs and how to meet them.

My Approach:

I utilise a of blend of techniques from CBT (understanding the link between your thoughts and behaviours), Psychodynamic (the impact of the past on the now), Humanistic (your subjective experiences) and Relational Psychotherapy. This means that I can work at a deeper level with you and support you in your journey in a way that meets you where you are at, whilst providing a gentle encouragement to help you move forward. At the heart of my approach is creating a warm, friendly and safe space for you to feel as comfortable as possible.

Issues I often work with:

  • Depression/Low Mood
  • Anxiety
  • Low Self-Worth/Low Self-Confidence
  • Loss
  • Relationships - conflict and patterns (Family, friends and romantic)
  • Life transitions
  • Stress/Burnout
  • Lack of Direction/Feeling overwhelmed
  • Lack of boundaries and people pleasing

Contacting me:

When you first contact me we will arrange a free telephone call to discuss what you are looking for and allow you to ask me questions that will help you feel confident in our working together.

Please note , if enquiring via email - please keep an eye on your spam/junk folders for my reply.

Training, qualifications & experience

I often work in areas of depression, bereavment, anxiety, stress, low self worth, feeling overwhelmed, relationship issues, work related anxiety, and more. The list can be endless and the best thing is to get touch and if I don't feel my skill set is right for you I will sign post you another therapist.

I currently am taking clients aged 16yrs and above.

My qualifications include:

  • Post Graduate Diploma Integrative Psychotherapy.
  • Certficate in Couples Therapy.
  • BSc(Hons) Psychology with Counselling Studies.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Key details

Wheelchair user access info
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

My office is in a town centre location with ample parking options, on the ground floor.
