About me

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach, everyone is unique and my work with my Clients reflects that. One of the fundamentals to my practice is the co-creation of a safe space for the work to take place. A non-judgemental space where we can be curious together to enable us to explore, grow and gain clarity. I believe that my role as a therapist is not to diagnose you, to give directions or attempt to “fix” you, but to offer the chance for us to explore and help you tune in to parts of yourself that might once have felt out of reach.

Whatever brought you here, you don't have to face it alone and where our sessions go is up to you. I will always treat you and your story with the utmost respect. We will go at a pace that feels right for you. Our co-created space is a place where you can feel, explore, connect with yourself, deepen relationships and be curious.

My work is firmly based in the relationship. We all have our own things that bring us to therapy, and whatever yours are they are entirely welcome in our space and you are under no obligation to be anyone except you. It is you that we are interested in.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at The Minster Centre, as an Integrative Counsellor. I am a member of the BACP. I have extensive experience working with adults facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, loneliness, relationship difficulties, childhood trauma, and suicidal thoughts.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, so I aim to make the process as smooth and pressure-free as possible.

1. Getting in Touch

After you have made initial contact, we can arrange a free 15-minute Zoom call or phone conversation at a convenient time.

2. The Initial Conversation

This short call is a chance for us to get a sense of each other. We can discuss what’s brought you to therapy, and you can ask any questions about how I work. There’s no commitment at this stage I encourage all prospective clients to take a few days afterwards to reflect on how they felt speaking with me. Therapy is a deeply personal process, and it’s important to find the right therapist for you.

3. Deciding to Work Together

If we both feel we’re a good fit, I’ll send you a couple of forms to fill out before our first session. If you should have any questions regarding them then we can go through it together during our first session.

4. Ongoing Therapy

Where our sessions go is up to you. I will always treat you and your story with the utmost respect. We will go at a pace that feels right for you.

Being with your feelings and unpacking the difficulties you are facing can help to build and develop deeper self awareness, allow room to grow, gain confidence and expand the possibilities in your life.

Our co-created space is a place where you can feel, explore, connect with yourself, deepen relationships and be curious.
