About me
I am a highly skilled Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist with over 10 years of experience in the field of mental health. I have worked with children, young people, families, and parents/carers within various teams in the NHS, in schools and in third-sector organizations. I am experienced in working with individuals to better understand what the matter is and support their emotional development.
I have completed my training at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust Professional Doctorate program, where I continue to contribute as both a practitioner and teacher. My professional journey includes significant roles within the CAMHS school service and the Adolescent and Young Adult Department at the Tavistock Clinic, which offers exploratory psychotherapy to young people up to the age of 25. Through my work, I have developed an interest in supporting young adults and university students through the critical transition from adolescence to adulthood.
I specialise in longer-term in-depth psychotherapy, as well as shorter-term psychodynamic psychotherapy. My approach aims to help you explore, in depth, what is troubling you and help you to understand this better for yourself.
I have experience of working with a variety of personal and interpersonal difficulties. Sometimes young people find that it can be more difficult to pin down what they struggle with, and it may feel like there are many issues and anxieties that overlap and are harder to untangle. My therapeutic approach is thoughtful and containing, offering young people and their families a non-judgmental space to think through complex emotional struggles.
In addition to my work with children and young people, I offer support to parents and carers navigating challenges in their relationships with their children or adolescents. Whether working directly with young people or supporting parents, I bring a depth of understanding and a commitment to helping others build more fulfilling lives.
Getting in touch
In the first instance, if you are interested in exploring the possibility of working with me, please send me an email. I will usually offer an initial brief telephone call, and then a 50 minutes initial consultation, where you can tell me about yourself and we can discuss the most suitable treatment options for you.
If we both feel that we could work together, then I would usually offer a few more initial consultations to continue a joint exploration of your difficulties and consider starting individual psychotherapy. We would also discuss the frequency of the sessions, starting from once-weekly to more intensive treatment.
