About me
There is hope even if your brain tells you there isn't, and it is my job as a counsellor to help you see it. It is usually buried somewhere under layers of shame, self-criticism and feeling not good enough. We will work together to help you feel a deeper sense of fulfilment and control over your life. With the right support and tools, you can overcome challenges and lead a more balanced and satisfying life, even if it now seems impossible.
I use elements of CBT, transactional analysis, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and Schema Therapy. I work therapeutically for the NHS and charities, providing support to clients suffering from anxiety, depression, personality disorders, chronic pain, and others. I have a special interest in supporting women and immigrants.
Starting therapy can be daunting, and it's important that you find the right therapist for you. I offer a free 15-minute phone/online consultation, where we can introduce ourselves, discuss what it is you'd like from therapy, and the ways in which I might be able to support you. Please feel free to get in touch if you'd like to chat about working together.
Training, qualifications & experience
I'm a BACP-registered psychotherapist with training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, and other evidence-based approaches. Currently, I am pursueing a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology training funded by by NHS.
Over the past few years, I've worked in numerous NHS mental health services supporting individuals with a range of difficulties, including Complex Trauma, Psychosis, Depression, Bipolar Disorder and others.
My style is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in both clinical experience and ongoing training. I’m currently undertaking doctoral training as a clinical psychologist, further deepening my integrative, person-centred approach.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
