About me

Hello, I’m Helena, a licensed therapist offering online counselling. I provide a warm, confidential, and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.

Life can present challenges that feel difficult to manage alone. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or simply feeling uncertain about where you are in life, therapy can offer a space to reflect, gain understanding, and begin to move forward.

My approach is client-centred, meaning that our work together is guided by your needs, experiences, and goals. I believe that each person’s story is unique, and I aim to create a safe and non-judgmental environment where you feel comfortable speaking openly. Together, we can explore patterns, emotions, and experiences that may be affecting your wellbeing and work towards developing greater self-awareness, resilience, and confidence.

I have experience working with individuals from a wide range of cultural, religious, and social backgrounds, and I recognise how culture, family expectations, and personal beliefs can shape how we see ourselves and relate to others. I strive to work in a culturally sensitive and inclusive way, adapting my approach to ensure that the support you receive feels respectful, relevant, and meaningful to you.

EFT / Tapping Therapy
Alongside counselling, I also offer Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), often known as tapping. This gentle yet effective approach combines elements of cognitive therapy with acupressure by tapping on specific points on the body. EFT can help to reduce stress, regulate emotions, and support the processing of difficult feelings in a calm and manageable way.

What You Can Expect
In our sessions, you can expect:

  • A safe, confidential, and supportive environment
  • To be listened to with care, respect, and understanding
  • Space to explore thoughts, emotions, and life experiences without judgement
  • Support in recognising and challenging unhelpful patterns
  • Encouragement to develop greater self-awareness, self-worth, and emotional wellbeing

I am passionate about helping people develop a stronger sense of themselves and move towards living more fulfilling and meaningful lives. It is a privilege to support clients as they gain insight, build resilience, and create positive change.

If you feel ready to begin your counselling journey, I would be happy to hear from you. Please feel free to get in touch to arrange an appointment or ask any questions you may have.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
