About me
Do you feel lost, not sure where you are heading? I work with couples and individuals who are facing challenging times.
Hi, my name is Helen and I am dedicated to helping you build a deeper connection with yourself, whether its exploring and growing your self worth, rebuilding a relationship or wondering if you are still invested in your relationship.
I work with couples who want to improve their communication, feel they are stuck in a rut, or are looking to rebuild trust and connection. Relationships are rarely easy and can change over time, so many factors can influence our relationships with other as well as our relationship with ourselves. Age, children, loss, medical issues, job changes, bullying, social expectations and family input are just a few of the things that can impact relationships, so no wonder sometimes we might feel a bit lost. This is where I can work with you in improving communication, rediscovering joy and untangling emotional knots. Lets work at getting your relationship with yourself and your partner back on track.
I also work with people who reach midlife and think that they have "lost themselves". Often they have simply outgrown who they needed to be. This transition can be confusing, lonely and exhausting. Counselling can be the place to reconnect with yourself. It's not necessarily about "reinventing" yourself but finding out who you are now.
Life is never easy and can become overwhelming at times. Throughout life we will face challenges, but with the right understanding and tools, we can face it and get through it. We all need some time to decompress, to just focus on ourselves, to slow down and reflect on what is happening, I can provide you that space in a non-judgemental environment, to explore and process your thoughts and feelings. To help support you become the person you want to be, it won’t be a quick fix, but a journey of understanding, acceptance and growth.
I work face-to-face or online
I work in an integrated way, which means I combine aspects of CBT, Mindfulness, and use creative therapies, as humans we are all unique and work in different ways, so I will try and find a way that works for you.
Some of the areas I have worked with are; relationships, parenting concerns, self-confidence issues, anxiety, peri-menopause, life transitions and trauma survivors.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
